Explore the topic of Strategies for Combating Education Bias in Regulatory Workspaces. This poster elaborates on the problems surrounding education bias in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Over time, “soft skills” have trended in highly regulated businesses such as Quality and Compliance. However, a bias toward hiring and promoting people with a certain level of education, regardless of experience or soft skills, has become a prevalent issue.

While not intended to be all-encompassing, one overarching goal of the poster is to introduce readers to this relevant Diversity/Inclusion and Equity Topic. From this content, employers can view team member qualifications with an open mind while learning techniques to detect educational discrimination.

This poster was first presented at SQA 2021 by FDAQRC employees, Tristin Baca and Amanda White, Tristin joined FDAQRC in 2021. She has over ten years of experience in Good Clinical Laboratory Practice (GCLP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Amanda joined FDAQRC in 2021 as a Project Manager. Her background includes previously managing Quality and Regulatory Affairs for a stem-cell program and designing Quality Management Plans and Systems. Tristin and Amanda teamed up to create this poster presentation because they both feel it is important to bring awareness to the biases and challenges people may face within the workplace.
